Your Journey
The experience begins with pickup from Rethymno and surrounding areas, setting the tone for a day that moves from lush inland locations to dramatic southern landscapes.
The first stop is Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake in Crete, surrounded by green hills and calm scenery. This peaceful setting offers a gentle introduction to the day.
The journey continues to Argyroupoli, a village built on the ancient city of Lappa, known for its natural springs, flowing water and dense vegetation. Here, the landscape shifts into a cooler, more vibrant environment, rich in natural beauty.
Moving further into the countryside, the route passes through Moundros, a traditional village that reflects the authentic character of rural Crete, before reaching a local tavern where a stop is made for traditional Cretan food. This part of the experience allows you to enjoy local flavors in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The safari then follows an off-road route through Kotsifou Gorge, offering impressive views of steep cliffs and rugged terrain, before reaching the southern coast.
At Preveli, one of Crete’s most unique natural locations, a palm forest meets the sea in a striking landscape. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim in crystal-clear waters, with towels provided for your comfort, or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The return route includes a pass through Kourtaliotiko Gorge, known for its dramatic formations and natural energy, before concluding with a panoramic viewpoint at the area of Three Monasteries, overlooking Rethymno.
